At the November26th lunch meeting, Catherine Taekema and two other UFV students expressed their thanks for receiving a Rotary Club of Abbotsford Annual Leadership Award. Catherine said, "I want to thank the Rotary Club of Abbotsford for choosing me to receive a leadership award this year. I’m thankful to have them stand alongside me in my education...This award has also enabled me to commit more time and energy to my education and provided me with the ability to focus, work hard and give my best in each of my classes this semester." In her letter, Paula Eraso had this to say: "It feels very special to be able to receive this award due to my history with Rotary. My journey into leadership actually began with your organization. Since 2015, I have been actively involved with Rotary, and I have participated in youth exchange, YAIL, RYLA, Interact, and now Rotaract...your club has made a difference to me and it is continuously making a difference to many UFV students." We also heard Gina's words: "Being selected to receive the Rotary Club Annual Leadership Award is truly an honour. Thank you for supporting UFV students in achieving their goals, for emphasizing the importance of community and for encouraging young leaders."
