Discovery Trail Clean-up

Saturday April 8th, 2017

Meet at 10:00 AM and should be finished around noon.

Remember bring your kids and grandkids.  It is a very nice walk and kids love doing their part.  This trail is stroller friendly but there is a hill so bring your muscles if you do bring the stroller.  I bring my granddaughters every time and they love it.  I will have kid tongs, gloves, bags and adult tongs available for everyone.  Last time we had close to a dozen volunteers – Lets try and top that.  Remember this is a make up qualified event and also a social.  Lets get to know each other while improving the world we live in.  J  See you Saturday.

Did I mention I bring treats???????  Yum

Parking Lot at the top of the trail on Gladwin Road, Under the power lines east side of Gladwin and just south of Chief Dan George Middle School.

Membership Survey
District Membership Survey - DO IT!

President Sara is asking you to take the 5 minutes to complete the District 5050 membership survey this week by Thursday!  We currently have had 22 members complete it (much improved!), but that only puts us at 38%.  In order for us to have and analyze the results, 50% of our club must participate.  That is 7 more of you.  Just in case you are the one to make all the difference, please do it.  I realize the link I sent last time was finicky (at best), so please click through this one:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CZDNBB2 (Kathrin, please make sure the link works.  Sometimes my outlook causes it to require a password)

If it does not work, take the extra minute and connect through the District 5050 website (www.district5050.org).  You have until Thursday, April 6 to have your anonymous opinion count.  Thank you so much for helping our club and district improve!  Your input is so important.

MOMENTS OF HOPE GALA - Puttin' on the GLITZ!

This years Gala event will be a special one for the Abbotsford Hospice Society:
  • It has been 1 YEAR since Holmberg House, Abbotsford's Hospice, opened its doors to the termially ill members of our community. It has also been a year of incredible growth! Our palliative services now reach from Holmberg House, to the hospital, and into individuals homes. Our volunteer numbers have grown, and they are helping in all aspects of the Society and Holmberg House.  Our grief support programs for individuals and groups have increased by over 30%. And, we have hired a Manager for the
    Youth Grief Support program!
  • It has also been a sad year, with the passing of our beloved supporter and advocate, Mr. Dave Holmberg Sr. Who will we be honouring at the event.
  • and... "Puttin' on the Glitz" is the 14th annual Moments of Hope Gala, which is our largest funraiser of the year.  Proceeds from this event allow us to continue supporting people who are dying, and the individuals and families who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Things are growing good at the Abbotsford Hospice Society,
and at Holmberg House.
Our residents live courageously.
Please donate courageously.

We invite you to join us for the 14th Moments of Hope Gala - Puttin' on the Glitz!
5:30 pm - Friday, April 21, 2017
