Speaker of the week

Milt Walker - Gateway CRC

About the Speaker

When the Sumas Prairie flood occurred in 2021, my church, Gateway CRC stepped up to the plate to serve those folks affected. I began as leader of the distribution centre providing food and clothing to victims in the immediate aftermath. We then began raising funds to provide for the unmet needs that other agencies were not addressing; i.e. furniture and other incidentals lost in the flood waters. In total we raised nearly $2,000,000 dollars and I was appointed as the Program Coordinator to oversee the distribution of these funds, a role I continue to fill to this day..

My interests include true crime, baking, and interior design. A fun fact about me is that I have never broken a bone!
