Weekly Club Meeting

Guest Speaker:

Raymonde Tickner
Geographies of the Heart

Raymonde Tickner presents Geographies of the Heart – Stories from Newcomers to Canada, which holds the reconstructed memories of 18 newcomers. Their stories of leaving behind the known and constructing new lives in the unknown carry words laden with struggle, trauma, hope, and evolving images of themselves. These stories tell of the courage, determination and resilience needed to reshape life in a new geography.  BC Bookworld states these accounts “belie the many misconceptions about immigration and immigrants by revealing that the paths into Canada are as diverse as the people who journeyed them."

Abbotsford International Airshow

Hello!

The Abbotsford International Airshow is looking for Rotary volunteers, and they would love your support.

They are currently seeking volunteers for the following dates and shifts:

Friday, August 7— 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Saturday, August 8 — 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Sunday, August 9 — 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

There are three gates that need approximately 25 volunteers per gate.

This is a chance to roll up our sleeves and make a meaningful impact while enjoying one of Abbotsford’s most iconic community events. Whether you can join them for a few hours or the full day, your time will help ensure the event runs smoothly and reflects the best of who we are as Rotarians and volunteers.

As Rotarians, we believe in Service Above Self —a principle that unites us and gives deeper meaning to everything we do.
