Ernest Thiessen
Proposed Member Introduction

Ernest Thiessen was raised in Abbotsford before pursuing his engineering degree at UBC. During the eighties the Thiessen family were volunteers with MCC in Nepal. In 1991 Ernest received a PhD in Civil Engineering from Cornell University. Ernest has spent the last three decades implementing his dissertation research and has created the world's first multi-party collaboration system. This eNegotiation system is powered by intelligent
algorithms at a neutral site, including one that rivals the invention of Nobel Laureate John Nash. Ernest and his team will give a presentation that includes a simulation of a complex negotiation between First Nations and
two governments about a dyke upgrade for the Blazer River. This hypothetical scenario is made to look similar to the current situation in the lower Fraser Valley.
