It's time for a work party!
President Doris reached out to the Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Sumas and offered the support of our club with weeding around the Rotary Wheel beside the freeway on Sumas Way. The clean up will take place this Saturday, July 13, beginning at 8am. It is expected to take a couple of hours to complete the work. All volunteers are cheerfully welcome! Water and arbage bags will be provided and bring your gardening gloves. Please reply if you are able to attend. We look forward to seeing you there! |

Literacy Matters Abbotsford
Sep. 24, 2024 12:00 p.m.
Literacy is much bigger than reading – it’s a human right that help us make sense of our rapidly changing world. This presentation will introduce you to the Literacy Matters Abbotsford (LMA) organization and its programs. We’ll also look at literacy in the broadest sense of the word as I also share the LMA’s hopes and dreams for the future.Kathy has been involved in literacy work for the past 10 years. She started as a volunteer tutor (one to one) with Chilliwack Learning Society (CLS) and moved into the position of “Volunteer Tutor Program Coordinator” in 2017 until 2020. Kathy began to work with Literacy Matters Abbotsford in 2021 as the “Literacy Outreach Coordinator”.
