Earlier this year we heard from a young entrepreneur Alexis Warmerdam from the Abbotsford Tulip Festival. Her second agriculture project is open: Abby Roadside at the same entrance to the tulip festival. It is a corn maze with a bonus! It takes about 1- 1.5 hours to go through the corn maze and there are 4 beer and wine samples included for $20 ( $18 if people buy entrance ticket online) (food trucks are available if you want to eat)

Don Funk Memorial Awards Dinner

The Don Funk Awards dinner will be held on Thursday November 16 at the Phoenix Lounge.

 

A very deserving member from our Club will be honoured that evening!  Come and celebrate with them.

 

Cost of Dinner: $25.00 per person for the buffet 

Time of Event:  Arrival at 6:00 PM, dinner at 6:30 PM

 

Will advise of the speaker once confirmed.

               7:15 short welcome and then intro Speaker

               7:45 Ron Kelly talks about history of award and who Don Funk was

Starfish Packs needs your Help

Starfish is looking for club volunteers to provide 1-2 hours every Wednesday  mid day in October for the purposes of breaking down grocery supplies for Starfish.  We need 4-6 volunteers each week.

 

This will count as community service, be tracked as a club make up and quality for the Presidential Pardon from the weekly Sgt.

 

Please have them contact either Bruce Beck at bbb1771@shawbiz.ca or Bev Hasenpflug at bevhasenpflug@shaw.ca to provide availability.

The Presidential Conference on Environmental Sustainability and Peace is one of six international Peacebuilding Conferences planned for the 2017-2018 Rotary year and the only one in North America.

DISTRICT GRANTS SEMINARS REMINDERS

 

February 3rd - registration deadline - January 29th 

Two people from each club, one must be the President Elect, must attend and become qualified in order that the club is eligible to apply for any grant monies.

 

ROTARY LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (RLI)

 

March 10, 2018 - Surrey - 5 Star Catering, 5640 188 Street, Surrey, BC  V3S 4N5 Registration is now open.  Please choose Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 or the Grad Program and ensure that you register for the correct part.  Cost is $60.00 Canadian.  Any registrations after February 28th will be $70.00 Canadian.
